Technology Kitchen is an expert at Electrical Engineering. They have designed products for aerospace, military, medical, scientific, industrial and consumer customers. They build serious products for serious industries.
We started with printed circuit boards, a heat sink and a rough idea of how it should go together. Ampersand worked with their internal team to outline the broad mechanical components and assembly strategy, and we took it from there. We designed 9 unique parts, 7 sub assemblies, 12 drawings and many existing parts to create the full CAD database. And, as product development processes usually go, we had several rounds of changes along the way including a significant size and weight reduction after we discovered how much it would weigh.
After 2 very full days of development, we released for a prototype. TK was able to source parts and get a working prototype the next week. Some changes were necessary after seeing the fully assembled product and working with their assembly team. We were able to make the changes as they came in and the product was released for production and testing the following week.
This is not necessarily how we like to design products. Product design and development is a creative process. Allowing time for that process to work most successfully takes time. However, because of our experience and expertise, when called upon, we can help make our customers successful in a hurry.
