We get projects from many different sources and with a wide variety of ‘input’. Rarely do we get clients that do their own CAD to the level that VoChill did.
VoChill came to us after working with a previous designer. This is always difficult; many times we just have to start from scratch, for various reasons. In this case, they just weren’t able to get the shape and elegance they were looking for.
Getting the right look and feel was critical for this product. In a lifestyle product, it is the details that make it really stand out. We worked through many many refinements to get the exact shape of the base. And that was the easy part, making the shape moldable and beautiful down to every minor detail was the biggest challenge.
The next challenge was designing a simple and elegant base-to-cradle attachment. This proved to be a big issue with the previous designs. Fortunately, our first concept worked almost flawlessly we were off to prototyping, testing and outside user feedback.
This product is in production and for sale on VoChill.com and Amazon. It is truly amazing working with clients that are so talented in so many areas, with absolutely no previous experience in product development. We are very fortunate to get to work on fantastic products with incredible people.
